oh my stars!

i just got home from the first day of summer semester, &…

i am in love with my astronomy professor.

he is so cool. imagine the epitome of a rocket science “nerd”, age him forty years, and that is my prof. srsly, he has seen & done some amazing things. he actually is a rocket scientist, and he worked on the apollo missions for nasa. he had the whole class laughing and really engaged in what he was teaching already. i’ve already learned newton’s & kepler’s (the dirty, rotten thief, according to the prof) laws, and formulas for the sun’s mass & gravity, velocity, etc.

see? really cool guy.

the a/c wasn’t working at school today, so he let us out as early as he could. i was outta there by noon (class started at 10:30am), and i wasn’t expecting to be home til after 5:30pm. but since the lab handouts weren’t at the bookstore yet, he said no lab this week. score!

this means i have the rest of the day to enjoy the beautifully gorgeous weather today has to offer! it is a completely cloudless, sunny day. it’s hot, yes, but i love it that way.

so obviously, i’m very excited about this class. it’s content i’m actually very interested in. i always watch shows on the history & discovery channels that have to do with space and stars and planets and stuff. having such an awesome professor is just an added bonus.

one of the best parts? he said you can totes get an “a” without having the textbook, and one of my bff’s said i could have her history books instead of the ones i already bought. why, hello there, $260 refund. so pleased to meet you.

download this:  modest mouse’s new single “satellite skin” is so cool! i’m psyched for their new album, dude. and btw, i should totes be a music discoverer person, b/c i was listening to modest mouse back in the ’90s, before everybody knew who they were. 😉

today’s fave etsy item:  able & game has THE. COOLEST. greeting cards evar! this one’s my fave. that’s my boyfriend on the front of the card. 😉

i'm so glad it did. i *have* always been revered as a goddess where my musical tastes are concerned.

i also really love this one, which is also very relevent to my life right now:

i am now an official nerd, by the way. i don't think it was actually official til i started loving star trek.

  1. OMG I was in LOVE with my Texas history professor. He was so handsome. So smart. So spoken with a deep, slow southern drawl. Such strong hands when he was lecturing. So tall and dark and had a little salt and peppery hair thing going on… Such… Woo. Is it hot in here? Sheesh, someone turn on the A/C.

Seriously. He was so hot. I should look him up. I AM single now…

    😉

On rateyourprofessor.com, he always had like 6 chili peppers by his name. So funny! And all the female members (and a couple male) of his class would race to get to sit in the front row! HEE!

    Mmmmm. Professor Kingsley. Mmmmmm.
